Cerkovna ordninga ('Cerkveni red, Church Order, 1564') is one of the most culturally significant works of Slovenian Protestant writer Primož Trubar's (c 1508–1586). It is written in a variety of Slovenian that can be characterised as high literary Slovenian and represents an important text from the perspective of the organisation of the Evangelical Church and theology. In addition to texts that were usually included in Church Orders of the time, it also contains a number of Trubar's new additions. This edition of Cerkovna ordninga is primarily composed of a diplomatic transcription of Trubar's text followed by an intralingual translation of the Slovenian text into modern standard Slovenian. More than 450 explanatory and guiding notes help to understand the diplomatic transcription and critical translation. The monograph ends with chosen photographs of the Memmingen copy of Cerkovna ordninga found in 2013.
