Bedenice ('Deffodils') is the author's third book dedicated to the village Kopriva in Karst. Most of the material in this book is from the archival material of Milko Matičetov, ethnologist and folklorist of international reputation, who had left behind a great deal of unpublished written records from Kopriva and the surroundings. The thematic of these recordings encompasses the ethnographic and folkloristic themes, which he recorded from his youth on, and include historical data and circumstances of everyday life of some people who lived in the beginning and in first half of the 20th century in this region which is located on the border of Slovenia and Italy.

A lot of material is of folkloristic nature, among other are included in it narratives and folktales, anecdotes, folk songs, prayers, proverbs, sayings, mocking pleasantries and jokes. Published are also transcriptions of tape recordings made in Kopriva by Milko Matičetov and other researchers from the Institute of Slovenian Ethnology at Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Ljubljana in the 60-s, and which were enriched by the similar published material of other collectors, among them specially Virgil Šček the parish priest in Auber. The early years of Milko Matičetov are presented through his writings, memories, letters and interviews in which he expresses himself, as he always did, through the beauty of his imagery. This is followed by the transcriptions of his ethnographic notebooks which he started to write already in the year 1933, when he had only 14 years; and by some of his early published articles about stonecutting or carving. In the end the author published some new important data and corrections to his two first books dedicated to Kopriva and its stonecutters, and some new discoveries about stone architecture and monuments.
