The book (‘Other Love. Lacan and Anti-Philosophy’) is an attempt to address the philosophical and epistemological relevance of Lacan's later teaching, focusing notably on the years following the well-known Seminar on feminine sexuality (1972-73). In doing so the author explores the significance of the expression “anti-philosophy” that Lacan occasionally used in order to describe his own theoretical position and the position of psychoanalysis. The polemical connotation of the term does not target philosophy exclusively but more generally problematizes the logic of sense and the various attempts to construct a consistent worldview, be it philosophical, religious or scientific. Finally the book strives to read Lacan's final years as an attempt to address the possibility of a different philosophical “modus operandi”.
