The special issue of Alternator magazine offers an analysis of modern civilisation's vulnerability. Sixteen researchers from various fields were tasked with reflecting on human survival without sugar-coating. The result is a set of incisive insights into climatic, biological, social, and technological risks. Because such a complex and unforgiving topic cannot be conveyed by words alone, the text is complemented by visual shock therapy by academic painter Milanka Fabjančič. The publication rejects any search for utopian solace.
